Thursday, August 27th, 2009

Whoooo!  I finally added a few new patterns to my store.  Just a few accessories to make life easier.  The diaper clutch and the changing pad are quick projects and are great for beginners.

Off to sew some more goodies!changing pad 016 etsy

Ruffle Booty

Wow, I haven’t offered a new pattern in a while! I know, I’ve been totally slacking. Well, not really…the kids pretty much prevent me from being lazy. Hopefully this week I’ll have this little cutie bootie pattern listed.

Paige

Man, I must love this new blog.  I’m working on my 3rd post of the day!  Don’t get used to it though! ;)

I just had to post this pic of my girl.  Paige is going to be 13 this year.  Man, it seems like it was just yesterday that I was struggling to pull together the few hairs she had on her head and make a ponytail.  I couldn’t even do this on the back of her head where most ponytails take place.  I  had to put hers on top of her head!  When I’d put two of them I’d constantly hear how much she looked like Cindy Lou Who from the Grinch movie.  She was too cute!

So she just started 7th grade.  I’m nervous for her.  Shoot, the homework last year was hard…for me! LOL!  I know she’ll do fine though, she always has.  With her being deaf I was worried for a long time that she would feel left out from the other kids and have such a different life.  Well, she totally proved me wrong!  She’s been going to a regular school since 2nd grade.  She’s right there with all of the hearing kids.  And actually getting better grades than alot of them!  She totally acts her age, talks back, throws fits, has friend and boy troubles.  But she still tells me constantly how much she loves me and that I’m the best mom in the world. :)

She’s like me, growing up there was a ton of different things I wanted to be when I grew up.  I could never decide on one so I guess that’s why I didn’t go to college (not having money to go didn’t help either!).  She wants to be a singer, song writer, a dancer, she wants to design clothes and now she’s taking up an interest in photography.  Whatever she chooses I’ll support her…hopefully she gives up on the singing though!  DO NOT tell I said that! LOL!

Workin out

Thursday, August 20th, 2009

When I was about 20 I had my daughter. Life was good. I could still eat what I wanted. I never exercised. And I could wear cute little clothes. Fast forward 12 years… Now I’ve had 3 boys, 3 c-sections and lucky me, I got to keep on 10 pounds from each of them. Can’t eat whatever I want and my cute clothes are long gone! So now it’s time to exercise I guess. :( My friend is trying to whip me into shape or kill me…which ever one comes first! LOL! Oh how I wish I was born an athletic person. I wish I was one of those people that truly enjoyed exercise. Maybe eventually it will happen, the hasn’t kicked in yet though. I have lost a whopping ten pounds since the baby was born…a year ago! LOL! It’s ok, I’ll get there.

Thanks Lukas for the last 10 pounds! ;)

I love this pic!  Paige took it when we were at the Indianapolis Children’s Museum.

Photography

So about a year ago I joined a forum called Clickin Moms in hopes of being able to take better product shots.  Let me say that I’ve come a LONG way!  Not photog worthy yet but I’m pretty proud of myself. ;)   I finally took the leap and turned the button on the camera to Manual.  Manual…even sounds scary!  It was pretty nerve wracking.  The whole time my husband kept yelling “hurry up, you’re missing this shot!”.  I kept trying to explain to him that I had setting I  had to change and couldn’t just push the button right away.  Anyway, here’s some of my shots.   While I know they are not technically not perfect I love them!  And isn’t that what matters?
