Obviously this is one of my favorite pics, I’ve shared it on the blog recently. Well, this weeks I Heart Faces photo contest theme is “Surprise” and I immediately thought of this picture. This kids is always getting caught with his hands in the frosting…doesn’t matter who’s cake it is! LOL!

Thursday, August 5th, 2010Finally! A picture of all of my kids together! I haven’t gotten a shot of them together since I did the pics for our xmas cards last year. I’ve been dying to get a shot worthy enough to be printed out HUGE so that I could display it proudly on my living room wall. This is it! And the other two below are hung up right next to this one. I’ve been trying to redo my house, hopefully I can post a few pics of it soon. Figures, I forgot to take “before” shots.
You would not believe how much work this shot was. And the main culprit giving me the trouble was the littlest monster. Man, I’ve got my hands full with that one. I thought the curly haired cutie was going to make me loose it. But little Lukas has topped them all! I guess his big bros taught him well…and he took it to a whole new level! LOL!
Niko is a total sweetheart and I’m about to loose him to kindergarten…sniff sniff. He is such a lovable kid and my little helper. He’s pretty nervous to go to school so that’s making it harder on me…yeah, I said “me”! The only time I’ve been away from him is when I had his brothers or when he sleeps over at his aunt’s house. Ok, so I’m definitely the one having a harder time with him starting school! You can’t blame me, I haven’t sent one of my kids off to kindergarten in about 9 years…yup that means my daughter is going into 8th grade! High school next year…help!
I love this shot of Julian! It’s his classic pouty face. I’d say he looks like this in 90% of the pics I’ve taken of him. He just likes to be, how should I put this…difficult! Pretty much he wants to do the opposite of what you want him to do (doesn’t sound like me at all!
. So, I need to remember that if I want him to smile I need to tell him not to!
Welcome to the carnival!
Friday, July 16th, 2010We threw a carnival themed birthday party for your two year old over 4th of July weekend. I was so excited how well everything came together. I wish that I was better at planning ahead though. Most of the decorations were made the morning of the party. I was actually still sewing together the crape paper 5 minutes before we walked out the door. And to give myself a little credit I did start everything the week before. But I got stumped on what I wanted to make and my best ideals just seem to always come at the last minute. So I guess no matter how far ahead of time I start I’ll still be working up to the deadline!
I just love how the main table turned out!
I made all of the birthday hats from scrapbook paper.
I loved his little birthday hat!

I put white and yellow mini marshmallows on top of the cupcakes to look like popcorn.
Some of the little carnival accents are from the scrapbooking section at JoAnn’s.

I found the vintage looking clowns and balloons on Etsy.
The kids loved helping themselves to all of the candy!
holla to all you mamas!

I sincerely hope that all of you beautiful, amazing, talented women had the mothers day that you deserve! I personally think we should get a week long celebration.
This is our first pic I’ve taken of my family all together. It was a lot of work but I love how it turned out. I actually planned on putting it on our xmas card but I changed my mind when I was designing it. I can’t wait to do another one this summer. Hopefully my skills will have improved by then.

I know I totally don’t blog as much as I should. But I just can’t do posts without pictures, can’t do it! And I’ve been so crazy busy that I can’t find the time to take pictures. I got my new 7d back on the 18th and just today had I really gotten a chance to read most of it. I’m not feeling as scared of it now. I think we will become really close!
What’s up with the green face you ask? Just another picture I found when I was going through my 2009 folder. I just love everything about this shot, the curl hanging down in front of his eye, the way he has his chubby little lips, the frosting from the nose to the chin…that is totally Julz! He’s a mess and that’s just how I like him.
Please someone give me some inspiration for a new pattern! It’s not that I don’t have design ideas I just don’t have the motivation. I’m sure it’s partly due to the fact that I’ve been feeling completely overwhelmed with work and home duties. It just feels almost impossible to get it all done in a day and stay sane. Oh and also add in there that I started doing P90X this week! It’s a killer workout and leaves me craving a nap. But I’ve got to stick with it, I need to do this for myself. You should try it too!
come on warmth
Monday, March 29th, 2010I missed Niko’s hair this long! He begged me at the end of last summer to cut it off. I was pretty much in tears. I got so excited a few weeks ago when he told me he didn’t want it cut short again cause he likes it long…good, me too! It’s starting to look like this again. I love when it falls a little in his face and brushes it over with his hand. His big brown eyes just pop out at you!
Oh and sorry if I bore you, constantly talking about my kids. What would you want me to talk about, work? There is absolutely no entertainment in that subject! It’s so unentertaining that I’ve barely felt motivated about it lately. I bought a new serger over a month and a half ago and haven’t used it yet. I can’t remember when I last designed a sewing pattern. I got my new Canon 7d almost 2 weeks ago and finally used it last night for the first time! I swear I’m scared of that camera. There is just so much more too it than my little old Rebel. It will just take some time to get used to I guess. Hopefully once it warms up and the kids aren’t trapped inside (making me crazy) I’m sure it will get better. I’ll be sewing away and snapping pics like a pro…ok, maybe not quite like a pro. But hey practice makes perfect right?!

Oh my gosh, do you ever feel like you’ve totally caught up? I swear I don’t know what that feels like! Maybe that means I take on too much…which wouldn’t be too hard to believe. But really, how do I narrow it down? There’s stuff I need to do and stuff I want to do. I need to clean the house, give the kids a bath, answer customer questions, send out orders, take a nap (definitely a need at this point), etc. I want to play with my new camera
, design a new pattern, take me boys out so they can drive their powerwheels, take a break from work totally for one whole day. How do you do it? How do you run a business alone and take care of your family? It’s hard wearing all of the hats in a business. But I also have to admit it’s exciting and fulling knowing that this is all me. I did this, ME! Ok, so since I’ve worked so hard I’m going to give myself a pat on the back and a vacation day…here’s one for you too!
Oh, and who is that little cutie above? That is Daniel, one of my oldest friend’s little boys. I secretly took pics of him while she was away. She hadn’t had any profession photos done of him so I thought that she would totally appreciate it. Finally two weeks after I had taken them I was able to drop them off at her door step. Man, I wish I could have seen her face when she opened them! Made me smile though to know that something so simple could mean so much to someone.

Look at that sweet, innocent little puppy face. It wasn’t her that chewed up the boy’s toys. There’s no way she put that hole in my husband’s sock. And oh no, she would never steal food out of little Luke’s hand….no way! Almost had you all fooled, right?! LOL!
Oh, and did you notice daddy’s little princess got her nails painted pink?! Maybe I should be jealous!

Lately I have been going through some older photos. At the time I took them I didn’t really think they were all that great. Now I’m loving them. Everything deserves a second look, don’t cha think?!
This is such a beautiful moment between my oldest and my youngest child. I hope that even with such a big gap in age they stay close.
This is my super Niko. Always ready to save the day!
